]]>Recruit for the creative sector or currently looking to bring some top talent in-house? This blog is for you!
Having worked closely with a host of great agencies and freelancers I have found that although most creatives have a LinkedIn profile a large number aren’t regular users. This blog aims to share with you some social networks designed specifically to connect the creative world with great companies and positions.
The leading online platform for the creative sector, Behance aims to “empower the creative world to make ideas happen.” Acquired by Adobe in 2012 Behance is home to over 77 million images with active users from 172 countries.
Behance users can showcase their work, availability, achievements and contact details via their free online portfolio page. If you are looking for a designer with a particular style you can filter work using the ‘Focus’ options.
In addition to the wealth of contact information and portfolios Behance also has an integrated job board that will help get your position directly in front of some fantastic designers.
Zerply is a professional network for the “world’s top creative talent in TV, film and games”. Zerply aims to help creative professionals transition from one project straight into the next by connecting recruiters with great candidates.
Users of Zerply maintain an online portfolio, sharing their work with recruiters and companies looking for talent. Recruitment professionals can set up messages so when someone with a specific quality or skill becomes available they are notified. Unlike LinkedIn, Zerply does not limit who or how many messages can be sent. As a recruiter there are no contact restrictions.
Creative Pool works across numerous sectors from marketing to development and graphic design. Users of Creative Pool maintain a profile page similar to LinkedIn with the additional option to host a copy of their CV.
A 2014 On Rec industry award winner, Creative Pool offers a range of options to recruitment professionals including job posting, CV searching and unlimited CV downloads. Your role is matched with relevantly skilled candidates from the 137,517 active users to ensure it gets put in front of the right people.

]]>How long do you spend taking care of admin, importing and exporting data between systems or searching for relevant candidate records in your internal database?
If not properly managed admin tasks can start to take over a recruitment consultants working day, even worse they may end up neglected leading to consultant cross over and disagreements down the line.
With over fifteen years experience in recruitment including growing and running a successful agency I have identified a few tips and tricks that will increase productivity and ultimately placements.
Manage email effectively
Get into the work early whilst the office is quiet and take care of your of emails. Clearing your inbox and catching up with last nights emails will remove a major distraction allowing you to get on and speak to great candidates and companies.
Cut out unnecessary meetings
Keep formal meetings to a minimum. Does the office catch up have to take place in the meeting room? Why not have a quick stand up meeting in the office instead.
Streamline regular tasks
Automate day-to-day recurring tasks such as invoice creation, candidate searches and CV management. If you want to minimise time spent on key tasks take a look at HRS’s ‘one second tasks’. Our in house specialists can show you first hand how to increase efficiency through a personal HRS walkthrough.
Minimise distractions
Distractions during important tasks can quickly lead to mistakes. Constant alerts from your smart phone and an untidy desk are two big distractions that can be easily resolved. Maintain a tidy desk and turn off your social notifications, catch up with Facebook on your break.
Structure your day
At the end of each day plan the following days tasks. Make a to-do list arranging tasks in the order you want to complete them. Structuring your day breaking tasks down into clear chunks will aid both productivity and motivation.

]]>As London fashion week kicks off with a bang of loud and proud colors and incredibly luxurious textures that make fashionista’s around the world go weak at the knees, it got me thinking what does recruitment software have in common with fashion? Nothing I can hear you thinking, 2 worlds apart however on some levels they have more in common than you think and let me explain before you think I’m completely crazy!
As a keen fashionista I follow the world of fashion with a sharp eagle eye looking for that one style, that one item that’s going to not only make me look good but also feel good, well it’s the same with recruitment software. A savvy recruitment director knows that just one great software can not only boost team moral and create a happy working environment but can also create a sleek image of being a highly professional recruitment company worth investing time in.
You see it’s all about design and image, you can design something and add a whole host of things to it that might make it look good but doesn’t necessarily work for everyone whereas you can design that one thing that is so simple, beautiful to look at and yet massively effective it has people queuing all over the world just to have one.
So you never know know maybe next year you might see HRS hitting the catwalks of fashion week modeling the latest design of one of our products…here’s hoping!

]]>From the very beginning It was important to us to make sure our online recruitment software application, whether it was delivered via the cloud, through the internet, a browser or simply as a client server, had to be compatible with Apple Macs.
So many products in the market claim to be compatible with Macs, or claim to work on Macs, but like many cases in life this just isn’t true. Although said products do run on Macs, they have to use additional applications to enable this process, which not only slows down the performance but means that it isn’t running natively on the operating system which again can cause complications.
Both our SaaS and client server software and all our future products, run natively on the Apple Mac platform. All our product range has been designed to run natively on both Macs and PCs without compromise.
It’s not just that we think Macs are cool or better or faster, it’s simply that there is a growing Mac community using all of Apple’s products, from MacBooks through iPads to iPhones. Our product works on all those platforms. And because we want everyone to have the same experience with HRS our ‘Web Based SaaS Recruitment’ not only runs natively on Apple Macs & PCs, it also runs on Android.
For more info on our fully compatible Apple recruitment software see our dedicated Apple recruitment software page.
